Tables
What the advanced stats mean
- CF% (Corsi For %)
- Share of all shot attempts (goals, shots on goal, misses and blocked shots) taken by a player's team while they're on the ice at 5-on-5. Above 50% means your team is controlling play.
- FF% (Fenwick For %)
- Like Corsi, but without blocked shots, which focuses on attempts that actually reached the net area.
- xG (Expected goals)
- The chance an unblocked shot becomes a goal, based on distance, angle, shot type and whether it was a rebound or rush chance. Summed over shots, it measures chance quality, not just volume.
- xGF%
- Share of expected goals for while on the ice at 5-on-5. Often the best single number for whether a player's team is outplaying opponents.
- GSAx (Goals saved above expected)
- Expected goals against minus goals actually allowed. Positive means the goalie stopped more than an average goalie would have on the same shots.
- PDO
- On-ice shooting % plus save % at 5-on-5. It tends to drift back toward 1.000, so very high or low values often mean luck is involved.
- Rel CF%
- Team CF% with the player on the ice minus team CF% with them off it. Adjusts for how good the team is overall.
- OZS% (Offensive zone starts)
- Share of a player's shifts that start with an offensive-zone faceoff (vs. defensive zone). High numbers mean sheltered, offensive usage.
- Per 60
- Rate stats per 60 minutes of ice time, so players with different minutes can be compared fairly.
